Early in March, American Landscape was thrilled to receive a Gold Medal and the Judge’s Award from the Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association for landscape maintenance on Dragonfly Farm, a 15.5 acre property located in Mequon, Wisconsin. These valued clients have a strong belief in utilizing best management practices toward the responsible stewardship of the land while at the same time presenting a distinguished and dynamic landscape. 13.5 Acres: Conservation Easement
Approximately 13.5 acres are held in a Conservation Easement by the Ozaukee-Washington County Land Trust which contains a 1.5 acre restored wetland, native prairies and two miles of walking trails to various destination areas on the property.
These destinations include:
- a wetland boardwalk
- an oak grove
- a grape arbor
- a fire pit
- a ravine garden
2 Acres: Homestead Footprint
The remaining two acres comprise the ‘homestead footprint’ which contains:
- the residence
- a free-range poultry barn
- an apple allee
- a small native plant nursery
- a frog pond
- a number of distinguished garden areas
