CLASSIC CURB APPEAL

2021 WLCA Bronze Award of Excellence for Residential Design & Construction

Re-design of this classic Wauwatosa home’s front entry was transformational. The design intent was to develop an entry that was distinctive, refined, visually appealing and most importantly complimentary to the homes distinctive architecture.

The design included a graceful semi-circular porch and steps consisting of rich pavers and chiseled coping. A lower step section is centered on the front porch, and is framed by low-profile pillars that create a strong connection to the city sidewalk. Gently-curving walkways of patterned pavers and accent banding adjoins the front porch to the street, and also provides access to an existing south side patio.

Hardscape color selection was of primary importance to compliment and accentuate the homes’ beautiful façade.

Landscaping incorporated a formal and casual mix period evergreens, flowering shrubs and selected perennials to provide balance, color, texture and visual appeal.

Installation of path and hardscape accent-lighting creates a welcoming glow to the homes’ evening atmosphere.
